Largo Carreiro is an underutilised public space with a potential to be activated as an anchor in the urban fabric of Ponta Delgada. This design takes the simple urban element of the bench and scales it up to an iconic sculpture that serves various uses from daily seating to public gatherings. This triple arched bench is an abstract reference to the historic triple arch ‘doorway to the city’ on Pra\u00e7a de Gon\u00e7alo Velho.<\/p>\n
